About Sage Resilience

At Sage Resilience, we believe that preparedness is power. We’re here to equip individuals and families with the knowledge and tools to confidently navigate any disaster—whether it’s a cyclone, wildfire, flood, or other emergency. Our mission is simple: to help people feel empowered and resilient in the face of uncertainty.

The idea for Sage Resilience was born out of my passion, and experience, with disaster management, personal development, and the overwhelming need to bridge the gap between people and the crucial information they need in times of crisis. Having worked in emergency management for years, I noticed a consistent theme: while communities were receiving alerts and information, many struggled to understand and act on them in real-time. I wanted to change that.

That’s why I created Sage Resilience. I want to help people not only prepare but also feel confident and empowered in their ability to make informed decisions when it matters most. In the chaos of a disaster, I believe that clarity, preparedness, and mental resilience can make all the difference.

How can we work together?

At Sage Resilience, we offer a range of services designed to help you understand, prepare for, and respond to disasters. Our focus is on building long-term resilience, understanding critical information, and taking proactive steps to safeguard your family, home, and mental well-being.

Emergency Preparedness Education

We provide the essential knowledge to help you create disaster plans, build 72-hour emergency kits, and develop strategies for your home and family. Whether it’s a wildfire or a flood, we ensure you're ready for whatever may come your way.

Mental Resilience and Crisis Preparedness

Building mental resilience is a key part of being prepared. We offer workshops and resources that teach you how to stay calm and make clear decisions in high-pressure situations. With mental strength, you can face any challenge that arises.

Community Empowerment and Ongoing Support

Preparedness doesn’t end with one action. At Sage Resilience, we foster a culture of ongoing learning and community support. Through our resources, community challenges, and regular updates, we help you stay informed and ready year-round.

Decoding Critical Information and Tailored Disaster Plans

Understanding alerts, press conferences, and emergency warnings can be the difference between chaos and clarity. We teach you how to decode complex emergency communication and tailor your disaster plans to fit your specific risks—whether it’s seasonal threats like cyclones or ongoing risks like bushfires.

Seasonal and Hazard-Specific Preparedness

Stay ahead of the curve with our seasonal checklists and hazard-specific resources. We help you prepare for the unique risks posed by different disasters, ensuring you know exactly what to do when disaster strikes.

Why Sage Resilience?

Because resilience isn’t just about surviving; it’s about thriving in the face of adversity. By combining practical preparedness with mental resilience and critical information understanding, we ensure that you are not only ready for disaster but empowered to handle it with confidence and calm.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together, we’ll build a safer, more resilient future for you, your family, and your community.

Meet the girl behind the business

Hi, I’m Morgan—a proud Australian-Canadian with a love for the outdoors. I’ve spent my life skiing, snowboarding, trail running, and mountain biking, and now I split my time between two small towns—one in Australia and one in Canada. I’m also a cat lover, a volunteer firefighter-in-training, and a big fan of matcha and Peloton spin classes.

My passion for disasters started at eight when I watched Twister (yes, the classic with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt). I dreamed of being a meteorologist, but life had other plans. I studied law, then nutrition, and worked in marketing for brands like lululemon and Vega before going freelance. It wasn’t my calling, though.

In my thirties, I became a State Emergency Services volunteer in Australia, which eventually led me to disaster management. I’ve worked as a fire dispatcher, emergency management officer, and in public information. Through this journey, I realized my true passion wasn’t weather forecasting—it was helping people navigate disaster situations.

Having worked in both Australia and Canada, I’ve gained worldly expertise in disaster management from two countries that face vastly different types of crises. This unique perspective helps me offer tailored advice and resources for each.

That’s why I created Sage Resilience. I saw how confusing and inaccessible disaster preparedness information can be. People remain unprepared because they think disaster won’t happen to them. But the truth is, it can happen to anyone. My goal is to make disaster preparedness “cool” and approachable with straightforward, actionable advice to help you feel empowered and ready when disaster strikes.

In addition, I’m working towards a Bachelor of Psychological Science and I’m a yoga and meditation teacher. All of these tools help build mental resilience in times of crisis and I share them with my clients.

At Sage Resilience, I aim to give you the resources and knowledge to recover faster from disasters and feel empowered to deal with them. Stay safe, and take care of one another!
